Our Coachs

All our staff are fully vaccinated, have passed their NSW working with children check and hold  current first aid qualifications.

TAMZIN MC SWEENEY

Owner & Programme Director 

Tamzin is the founder and programme director and is extremely passionate about child development through gymnastics. She relocated to Sydney with a vision to build the sport of gymnastics and improve young children's movement vocabulary through basic gymnastic skills. She is a qualified International Women's Artistic Gymnastics coach (FIG level 1) and holds an Advanced Coaching Accreditation through Gymnastics Australia.

KRISTINA KNAGGS

Team Leader

A proud Newtown local and mother of two, Kristina has been leading our team at Gymkidz since January 2022. A former competitive gymnast in England, she then deepened her understanding of child development as a Primary School Teaching Assistant. Kristina brings a diverse background to her role as our team leader and is passionate about harnessing the power of gymnastics to enrich children’s lives both in and out of the gym. She loves fostering a supportive environment for our coaches and strengthening the local Gymkidz community.

CAITLIN SO

 Senior Recreation & Kindergym Coach 

For the past three years, Caitlin has been an integral part of the Gymkidz family, bringing her boundless energy and expertise to every class. With a lifelong passion for sports and movement, she has competed in hockey, karate, and basketball—and channeled that love into coaching primary and high school hockey teams and now gymnastics!

Dedicated to her role as a coach, Caitlin’s mission is to create a fun, supportive space where children can build skills, confidence, and lasting memories. Outside of Gymkidz, she’s pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work at UNSW, driven by a desire to support children and vulnerable communities in meaningful ways.

Maria Argyrous

 Senior Recreation & Kindergym Coach 

Maria is passionate about working with children and has devoted over three years to coaching gymnastics. Her aim is to empower children, helping them take pride in their progress and hard work. Maria creates a supportive environment where her gymnasts feel resilient and capable. Alongside her coaching, she is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education at the University of Sydney.

KYAH HUMPHRIES

 Senior Recreation & Kindergym Coach 

Kyah joined Gymkidz in February 2022 and, over the past three years, has become a vital part of our coaching team. A former competitive gymnast, she holds the WAG Intermediate coaching accreditation from Gymnastics Australia and spent more than three years instructing at Springloaded in Coffs Harbour before relocating to Newtown.

Currently completing a degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of Sydney, Kyah combines her academic knowledge with hands-on expertise to design sessions that help every child progress and gain confidence. Her goal is simple: to guide students toward their personal best while fostering a positive, encouraging environment.

Alexandra (Allie) Koldeway

Recreation & Kindergym Coach 

Allie comes to Gymkidz with more than five years of experience coaching gymnastics in the United States and many more years of experience as a competitive gymnast and ballet dancer herself. She loves encouraging kids to develop their talents in the gym and try things that are new to them. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney in the department of Government and International Relations.

CHARLOTTE ARZADON

Recreation & Kindergym Coach 

Charlotte has a genuine passion for working with children, drawing on her experience in both babysitting and gymnastics coaching. She is dedicated to helping each child discover their own strength, confidence, and joy through movement. With a focus on creating a positive and supportive environment, Charlotte encourages kids to challenge themselves, grow at their own pace, and celebrate their achievements—free from everyday pressures. She is currently studying psychology at UNSW, deepening her understanding of child development and emotional well-being.

CHARLOTTE HOCKING

Recreation & Kindergym Coach 

Charlotte is a dedicated gymnastics coach and former dancer with over 12 years’ competitive dancing experience across commercial styles, including Jazz, Hip Hop, Acrobatics, Lyrical and Contemporary. She’s spent the past two years teaching dance and coaching primary school–aged children, drawing on experience in childcare, surf life saving and academic tutoring to design sessions that are safe, playful and structured. Driven by children’s curiosity, courage and rapid growth in these formative years, Charlotte aims to walk beside each child, simplifying skills, steadying them after wobbles, and celebrating every first. Currently studying a combined Bachelor of Science/Laws at the University of Sydney (majoring in Applied Medical Science). Charlotte hopes to become a paediatrician and bring the same care, patience and joy to her future clinical practice.

Natalie Heaydon

Recreation & Kindergym Coach 

Originally from New York City,  Natalie has been passionate about gymnastics since she was just 3 years old. She competed up to Level 6, building a strong foundation in the sport she loves. With years of experience working with children through babysitting and coaching, Natalie is known for her warm, encouraging approach. She’s dedicated to helping every child build confidence, skills, and a lifelong love of movement.

Hannah Roberts

Recreation & Kindergym Coach 

With a passion for helping kids build confidence, coordination, and a love for movement, Hannah is committed to creating a positive and encouraging environment in every class.
She trained full-time in Sydney Dance Company’s Pre-Professional Year program, where she developed a strong foundation in technique and creative expression. Hannah is excited to bring these skills and experiences to Gymkidz, inspiring young gymnasts to move with joy and confidence.She is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Sydney, majoring in Psychology and Sociology
